2. Lean Product Innovation with Stefan Haas and Jens Otto Lange

Disappointed after shipping a good product idea? Afraid to invest time on building something nobody wants? Lacking a shared vision within your team? Fed up by long product strategy meetings with no tangible output? In this intensive one day workshop you learn from experienced practitioners how to use the Value Proposition Canvas combined with methods from the Lean Startup to navigate rapidly the way from initial product idea to product-market fit. You learn how to combine business model design, customer development and agile product development by iterating and testing hypotheses to validate product ideas rapidly. The process helps you to mitigate risks early on in product innovation and we will cover several methods how to define a Minimum Viable Product. We are using a lightweight version of Scrum in the workshop that is truly cross-functional and easy to adopt by non-software people coming from fields such as Design, Marketing and Business Development. The workshop includes a set of team based methods for rapid decision making. We only teach what we apply on a daily basis coaching innovation teams and entrepreneurs.

3. A framework for alignment: ‘Auftragsklärung’ with Marc Kadish and Christian Becker

Customer driven, agile product management only works when a team is empowered to take decisions autonomously. But autonomy does not work without a clear alignment across all involved hierarchies and stakeholders upfront. Developing a clear and understandable description of the Why and the What of a project is key – especially in larger organizations. This is everything but a trivial task: What is really the target, which constraints apply and what is the overall context? In this workshop we will tell you why XING started developing this framework and how we apply it now to kick-off projects fast and in the right direction. Focus will be on practical work to experience and learn the framework first-hand and we will also take some time to visit the teamspaces at XING to see this all in action. The workshop is targeted at Product Managers at all levels who know the pain and of having no true alignment with boss and stakeholders.

Location: XING AG, Kaisergallerie, Grosse Bleichen 23-27

4. Product Discovery Essentials with Nikkel Blaase & Jan Milz

  1. Product Discovery is an innovation technique that helps organisations to continuously improve existing products in new meaningful ways or to create completely new products that provide significantly new customer value. Based on several examples and exercises, the participants get practical knowledge on how to apply helpful innovation tools like the Unstuck Map (http://unstuckmap.com/) and Discovery Sprints in practice to understand the essentials of product innovation, and thereby learn how to run and apply better Product Discoveries in their product teams. 5. Impactful Product Thinking with Wolfgang Wopperer-Beholz and Michael Schieben

Product innovation is complex. Simple practices and linear processes don’t do it justice – they regularly lead to false assessments, failure and frustration. Product Thinking is a mindset and methodology that addresses this situation. It treats product innovation as a complex system and aims to maximize its positive impact on all stakeholders. The Product Field helps you with that: It’s a model, a canvas and a toolbox to develop better products and increase your capacity for innovation. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the Product Field’s core ideas and learn how to use it to augment and enhance our Product Thinking and persistently improve collaboration. After the workshop you’ll be able to: – navigate the context a product is build and used in – methodically hone a value proposition – identify risks and potential for improvement.
